Can I use a travel day to travel from Stockholm to Oslo as part of the 4 days on a Denmark-Sweden Rail pass? Is there a supplemental charge since Oslo is not in either of Sweden or Denmark? Thank you.
I would guess it would be complicated and that you might have to pay to go from the closest border town to Oslo. Check out this RS article on the topic if you haven't already. It looks like you could pay $55 to go from Stockholm to Oslo without the pass and use that day for something else. Another alternative would be to pay the extra money for a 4 country Scandinavian pass that you can use in any of the 4 countries. I hope someone can answer your question. I couldn't find the answer at the Man in Seat 61 either. I'm planning a trip to Scandinavia for my husband and I for next summer. From the RS article I had already decided to get 8 or 10 day saver passes for our month there. Either amount of time is 1/2 the cost per person than it would be for point-to-point tickets based on both his map and my own research at the train websites.
