Does anyone know if there is a way to tour a Dead Tube station. I know there is one somewhere in the west end where they film TV shows and things. Does anyone offer tours of abandon platforms or anything like that.
There are several disused tube stations in London but the most famous and the ones you're probably thinking of are either Aldwych or the disused former Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross. Both are used now for filming (Aldwych is "historic", Charing Cross more modern) and there are VERY occasional public visits. If anything happens it'll be advertised on the London Transport Museum website at http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/events/events-calendar. But this is very uncommon and I can't say when it's likely to happen next.
The one you are thinking of is Aldwych. There are tours on occasion run through the London Transport Museum, but there don't appear to be any coming up at the moment.
If you are in London at the time of London Open House, the London equivalent of the Days of Patrimony in other parts of Europe, there are often free tours then. This year it is 21st and 22nd September.
