Daytrip to Dingle

A friend and I will be in Dublin for five days in May. We would like to take a day trip to Dingle, possibly stay one night there.

Is this a realistic timeframe? What's the best way to get there from Dublin?

No, I'm afraid it's not realistic to do this in one day. Nor would you really want to. Dingle deserves at least one night--and two would be better.

You can take the bus all the way, but you won't arrive in Dingle until 15:10. If you take the train to Tralee, you'll have to wait to ccnnect with the same bus that gets to Dingle at 15:10.

The fastest way would be to fly Aer Arann to Kerry, arriving at 08:35. Then take the 10:25 bus to Dingle, arriving at 12:40. That would give you nearly a full afternoon to tour the Slea Head Peninsula. Spend the evening in a Dingle pub that offers traditional music sessions. Return to Dublin the next day.
