Last year I stayed in Henley and also visited Oxford, Windsor and London. What other towns/places make reasonable day trips by train from Henley? I think Winchester is doable. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Lynn, will you be taking the train out of Reading? If so, Bath is a great day trip; about 90 minutes from Reading. Winchester and Salisbury are doable, too, but I don't recall if you can get there from Reading without changing. Of course, if you are willing to go into London, then almost every city in southern England is a possibility. Take the train from Reading to Paddington, then the Tube to one of the other stations. Canterbury is within reach. I've done Cambridge from Reading that way. Heck, I even did York that way. Made for a pretty long day, but well worth it.
