Day trip to London...best deal for Tube tickets?

We are doing a daytrip from Paris and will use the Tube probably 4-5 times (2 adults, 8 & 13 yr old). What is the best way to use the tube?? Individual tickets each time or is there a day pass or something to save money?

Once you get to St.Pancras you can go to the tube station and ask for a Family Travelcard which you can use for the tube and buses if you decide you want to ride the bus. A family travelcard would cover you, your husband and your 13 yr old., the 8 yr old would trave free.

The oyster card is just a method of recording your travel ticket ie you load pay as you go cash and/or travelcards on to them. However, if you buy paper travelcards from St Pancras railway station (ie not an Underground/Tube station) you will be able to benenfit from the 2 for 1 entrance ticket deals. You will not pay any more for your tickets.

Single tube tickets cost £4 for adults!

Note the price Linda gave for single Tube tickets. A one day, zone 1-2 Travelcard (either peak or off-peak) costs less than two single tickets. You can buy a child rate travelcard for your 13-year-old. Your 8-year-old rides free when accompanied by an adult.
