I am taking my son to a soccer game in Manchester 2 days before we leave, 7:40 am flight out of Heathrow. Which town would be a better day trip for a 13yo, Liverpool or Bath? I also am trying to decide if I should stay in Windsor or London - Victoria?

Yes, the game is on 11/30 and we leave on 12/2.

Are you staying in Machester the night of the game? What about the night before your flight?
Is your son a Beatles fan or would he be more interested in Roman history?
And if you have a 7:40 AM flight out of Heathrow, I'd suggest staying the night before near Heathrow as the first tube train arrives at LHR at about 6:30 and the first but not until after your flight leaves. You'll need to be at LHR at least 2 hours before your flight.

Basically, if your son is a Beatles fan, go to Liverpool. If not, go to Bath.
If you're staying in London, I would suggest Bath.

Our plan so far is to stay in Cheshire the night of the 29th. We will take our bags with us and leave them at the train station in Manchester while at the game. I have not decided where to stay Dec 1st, my thought is to either stay in London (considering Cherry Court Hotel) or a place in Windsor.
