I am planning on spending a day at Castle Howard and was wondering if anyone has visited there and what is the best way to get there without hiring a car from York. Thanks so much.

You can get a coach (bus) from York to Castle Howard. Castle Howard is 15 miles north east of York.
There are several buses a day.
