Day trip between London and Cheltenham- suggestions?

I'm landing in London on a Saturday night and need to be in Cheltenham by Sunday night. Any suggestions for a place to stay overnight and explore on Sunday that is on the way? (I already have plans for Bath and the Cotswolds later in the trip). Thanks!
