day tour or B&B recommendations, Killarney

Any day tour recommendations in Killarney? A convenient B&B? Not fancy, just clean and pleasant. I will be traveling with a Senior and teen by train to the region so we don't have a car. (How are the roads? Should I consider renting a car for the weekend?(Fri-Mon)) Would like to see the lakes, Gap and Torc Waterfall. Will be in the area for 3 days (1 day will be spent in Dingle.) Thanks for help.

check out: www.killarneyaccomodation.net Chutehall B&B. They state that they are w/in 5min from City Centre. I am sure you can get tours out to the Gap. Torc Waterfall is really close to Muckross house & If you take the jaunting cart ride around the grounds I am sure you can get them to take you to Torc Waterfall. You maybe able to take a local bus tour to take you to Muckross house, torc falls and ring of kerry.

You mention that you were considering renting a car for the weekend. Why aren't you renting for the time you are in Ireland? You could end up spending just as much for a weekend rental as you would for 5 to 7 days. If you are going to Dingle, you really don't need to see the entire Ring of Kerry.

Thanks for the help - this is my first time going to Ireland and I can really use the tips. Re: driving. We're spending several days in Dublin so I don't need a car there. And frankly with taking my senior mom and teen age daughter, I'm not confident of their ability to help me navigate (or even tell me right from left) - that's one big disadvantage! I'd just as soon train it to Killarney so I know we'll make it safe and sound in a reasonable amount of time! I'll check out that B&B site.
