Rick noted in his 2012 Ireland travel book that Dublin's Dart system between Howth and the city has a 3 day pass for 11.80 Euros. We are planning to travel to Dublin in October would love to take advantage of this but cannot seem to find any information online. Can anyone help us?
I don't know if you saw this already in your search, but http://www.dublin.ie/transport/dart.htm says that weekly passes (and I would assume shorter ones, as well) are available at all ticket offices. There is also a phone number listed that you could contact.
Just one word about DART (I last visited in 2004, so please correct me if the system has expanded since then). The line isn't so much built as a method of transport around downtown Dublin as it is a method of bringing people from outlying areas into the city. If your hotel is near the center, you might not have much use for a 3 day DART pass.
Thank you for your prompt answers. We found what we were looking for on the Irish rail site. We will be staying outside City Center so the Dart will be our transport into and out of the city. Thanks again.
