What kind of music are you interested in? In other words, are you looking for a lounge where you can dance to jazz, a big nightclub that plays hip hop, or a nice supper club where you can show off your ballroom dance moves?
TimeOut is a good resource for listings on all types of dance venues, but if you are more specific here, you will get better recommendations.

I'm interested in dancing to pop music, I'm in my forties and not trying to be the latest in trends, and I'm staying West of Soho and east of Hyde Park.
