Dan Dooley & Zero Deductible??

We just arranged to rent a car for 8 days from Dan Dooley for next month. During the course of the conversation I asked the agent if there was any way to bring our deductible down to $0. She replied that by Irish law the lowest we could go would be $100E deductible, and yet I know I have recently seen several other posters on here and other forums indicate that they had a $0 deductible policy. Which is true?

You can get 0 with the Super CDW policy. I would check around with other companies and see if you can find a better deal on price, too. Dan Dooley tends to be high.

I don't think Irish law says anything of the sort. That sounds like the Irish gift for the gab.

Deb - We rented a car in Dublin with Hertz and the additional charge for zero deductible was 8.95. The only items not covered were loss of the car key, tires and putting the wrong type of petrol in the car.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Dan Dooley did give us the most competitive rate (compact automatic w/Super CDW, includes theft, tires, and all glass), but darn that Gift of Gab if I had only known that their info about $0 deductible was not true when I booked with them, I might have booked elsewhere. I guess we will live and learn for our next trip to Ireland.
