Current recommmendations for Edinburgh B & Bs

I will be in Edinburgh in April 2012 and desire a B & B that is in the City Centre environment or easy walking distance, and has a hearty breakfast (such as with eggs etc.) included. Would appreciate recommendations. Thanks!

On past trips we've stayed at Stuart House, 12 East Claremont Street, and Broughton Guest House, 37 Broughton Place (www.broughton-hotel.com). They are about a 15–20 minute walk to the Royal Mile. The Broughton is a couple of minutes closer to the Royal Mile, has a nice neighborhood pub one block away, and across the street from the pub is an excellent restaurant called the Olive Branch. Both places were nice, breakfasts very tasty, and the owners were accommodating.

I stayed at The Walton in New Town. I only had the traveling breakfast as I had an early AM flight, but I'm sure that they offer a cooked breakfast. That's the phrase that they use the most. I also stayed at a small hotel, The Inverleith which is near the Royal Botanic Gardens. I would take the bus up to The Royal Mile, but I usually walked back. Pam

In July we stayed at The Albion Towhouse which is a 20 minute walk to the Castle area. I don't remember it's address but you can find it on Tripadvisors.com, which is where I found it. The breakfast selections include eggs, pancakes, etc. Very good and I do recommend it.

I've stayed twice at the Dene Guest House, www.deneguesthouse.com .. very nice hot breakfasts. They usually would expect me to have some of the cold breakfast items followed by the hot .. one breakfast was enough for me :-) The Dene has some en-suite rooms, also some standard rooms, which can really help extend a budget. I never had an issue to get access to a bathroom. I was in Edinburgh twice for the 3rd week of April and wonderful weather each time. Hope you get the same!
