Culloden/Loch Ness

Is it possible to do both Culloden and Lock Ness in one day? (traveling by bus or trail)

I'm staying three nights in Inverness so I have two full days. Would it be better to seperate the two and do one each morning?

What are some other things that would be good to do while there?

You can take a bus out to Culloden. There's a visitor center and you'll want to walk around the battlefield. Not too far from here is Fort George. It's internesting and was built after the 45 by the English. Great views of the Moray Firth. Loch Ness is in the other direction. Also, it's a big loch. You might want to see if there is a tour or bus that goes to Urquart Castle. I expect that there is. Another nice thing to do if the weather is good in Inverness is to take a boat ride out to the Moray Firth and look for Dolphins. I can't think of the name of it, but there is a great pub that has live traditional music. There is also often theater in Inverness so check the web sites. Also, I found a great jewewlery designer the last time I was there.

Thanks Pamela!

There are indeed tours of Lock Ness/Urquart castle the only hard thing there is picking which one to take!

The dolphin tours look like fun. Do you know if you can just walk on or is it something that's good to book ahead of time?

I just walked on when I took it. We didn't see any dolphins, but it was a spectacular day and great to be out on the water.
