Has anyone been on a ship that docked at the port of Cork? Impressions and can we walk into Cove from the ship (have visited Ireland extensively so no shore excursions for us this trip).

If you don't get any answers here, you might try www.cruisecritic.com. I have been to Cobh, but no ships were in port at the time, so I'm not sure exactly where they dock.

Cruise ships dock right in front of the Heritage Center - - maybe five hundred yards from the Cobh Catherdral and the Lisutania memorial.

Just what I needed to know. Many thanks. On cruise critic it appeared you where close to town but posts weren't real clear.
