Cruise from Stockholm to Talin

Has anyone taken the Silja cruise from Stockholm to Talin and back? You spend two nights on the boat with the day in between to tour Talin on your own. The last time we were in Stockholm we took a similar cruise to Helsinki and loved it. We were considering trying Talin when we travel to Stockholm in late September this fall. Thank you.

I have not taken it but I have taken the Silja cruise many times between Stockhom and Helsinki and the cruise between Helsinki and Tallin two times. In my mind it would be better to take the one to Helsinki and then the one to Tallin from there. It only takes a couple of hours and you can spend the day in Tallin. Seems to me that the one from Stockholm is too long. I would get bored on it during the whole day on the ship.

Hello Carroll. I would prefer to fly from Stockholm to Talin, and fly from Talin to Stockholm. The Estonian airline has those flights. The airport of Talin is near the town Talin.

Thank you for your replies. I am sorry I was not clear. The boat leaves Stockholm at 6 pm and arrives at Tallinn at 10 am the next morning. You have the day in Tallinn, then leave at 6 pm and arrive back at Stockholm at 10 am the next day. I like the idea of spending a day in Tallinn (our time is limited) and not having to worry about a hotel for two nights. I know a plane would be quicker, but we are trying to limit our time in airport security lines and all the other hassles that go with air travel these days.

I've taken the overnight ferry from Stockholm to Tallinn twice. If you want to see Tallinn from Stockholm this is the easiest (and probably cheapest) way.

When I took it, the boat to Tallinn was much more basic than the one to Helsinki.

Thank you, Laura. Do you have any suggestions on what to do or where to eat in Tallinn?
