son studying abroad in denmark...aarhus however no locals will accept his credit cards...continue to ask for six digit pins....any insights? we contacted all card company's prior to leaving so that is not the problem...thank-you

Easiest solution is for him to use a debit or credit card at an ATM and cash for everything else. It has the added benefit that he will learn to budget and you won't be hammered with the cc fees for using it in the EU. Sent both dd's to the EU with an Amex and a debit card with the understanding that the Amex was for critical purchases only and everything else was through the ATM.
