Hello..just curious for budget purposes if anybody has recently driven in Ireland and what a full tank would cost for a small compact car? thanks!
That's a good site, Linda. I'd also factor in that the cars over there get much better mileage. We had a full size Nissan SUV loaded full, and still got 40mpg+! Nice - especially considering so little of it was "freeway".
And a diesel will get you even better mileage. Get one if you can.
I have a 1.1 engine compact car and petrol last fill-up, ran about €35.
We had a Ford Focus automatic on our trip last year and a tank of petrol ran about 45-50 Euro.
In January it was cheaper in the North since the sterling was taking a bit of a beating
Chris, Are you sure that it is 40MPG and not 40 kilometers per gallon or approx.4 liters?
Don't forget that a British (and Irish) gallon is larger than an American gallon. The British gallon is 4.4 litres, while the U.S. gallon is 3.8 litres.
