Convince

I've just added 5 days to an October stay in London, to which I've been many times. I have not been to any location in Scandanavia. I'm thinking about spending that extra time in Copenhagen or Stockholm.

I know nothing about either city except that they have been recommended by someone who lived in both. My tastes lean toward speeding through the tourist sites and then going walkabout elsewhere. I don't car much for old buildings stuffed with old furniture and I tend to eat anyplace that's nearby when I find I am hungry.

Thoughts, suggestions, wise counsel much appreciated. We're talking the second week of October. Is weather or lack of sunlight an issue? (I can bundle up, but I don't won't to be lashed by high winds and horizontal rain.)

J.C., my first trip to Scan. was this summer and we did both Stockholm and Copenhagen. Here are the sites I used to plan: visit-stockholm.com & visitcopenhagen.com/ We flew to Stockholm on RyanAir which was way out of the city, taking us about 1 hour to get into the city from NYO. It is a very small airport so everything was quick (passport control, getting our luggage, and catching the bus) so that is the positive. Having not experienced the north out of summer I'm unsure of weather but we all really loved Stockholm: clean, friendly, easy to navigate, huge variety of things to see and do. Copenhagen was much smaller and didn't need as much time to "see", less clean and a bit more aloof. Just my experience. Hard Rock was a great experience in Copenhagen though! And if you like amusement parts Tivoli is a great one.
