I am going to be traveling around Ireland this May with my fiancé, and we are currently planning to spend one night in Waterford. We have decided to take a chance and use public transportation, so I am hoping to find an affordable B&B or hotel close to the bus and train stations.
I understand we'll need to take a bus out to the crystal factory, but I'd love to have a shorter distance between the stations and where we are staying. Any suggestions? Thanks!
There is a fantastic B&B that I booked my group of 5 in Wateford in 2006: St. Anthony's right off the Cork Road, Waterford. check out their site: www.stanthonyswaterford.com. The O'Keefe's are lovely, warm, helpful people. Mr. O'Keefe is retired Waterford craftsman. If you come into Waterford via BusErian or the train you can get local bus close to their location, as well as, take the local bus to and from the factory. On a funny note if you are a 'Spinal Tap' fan just remember one thing before you take the factory tour..."Stonehenge". LOL
I'm also going to Ireland in May, and I'm spending a night at Dunroven Bed and Breakfast. It's close to Waterford, reasonably priced, and seems like a comfortable place.
