Convenient London Hotel for a Kind-of "Grouchy" Traveler

Greetings! My husband, who isn't nearly as passionate about travel as I am, is traveling solo from Brussels to London via Eurostar, and then departing Euston Station to Berkhamsted after a one night stay in the London area. It's painful for me to believe, but he'll probably use his time to relax vs. explore London. We have a lot of Marriott points, so I have a reservation pending at the Regents Park Marriott, but I'm not sure that's the best choice. (It's not where I would stay if I were going!) Perhaps he should just stay near the St. Pancras station? I'm expecting he'll need to pay at least 200GBP/night because he needs internet, king or at least double bed, and an exercise room (grouchy traveler ... see what I mean?) Any advice or recommendations you folks have would be much appreciated. Thank You!!!

If you think he is that grouchy I would let him figure it out for himself.

Sorry, Barb, I don't get the Berko bit. How does Berkhamsted fit into this? I mean, if all he wants is a big bed and wifi and an exercise place and cheap how about the Holiday Inn Express in Watford Junction a couple of minutes walk from Watford Junction station? Their exercise facility is a referral to a nearby one. Berko is a really nice commuter town half an hour from Euston with a frequent London Midland service, castle ruins, the Grand Union Canal going right through town and a nice High Street. ??

Thank you for the information everyone! Nigel, for more info, he's going from one conference in Brussels to another at Ashridge (so, information is that he needs to get himself to Berkhampsted). He has that free day and one night in London. He's probably going to be a bit tired (hence, the grouchiness). I think he should keep his options open just in case he might want to see some of London. It would be great to keep the lodging expense down, but not so low or off his itinerary as for him to be miserable.

I've stayed at the Regent's Park Marriott. He should be pleased with his room.
Large beds, flat screen TV's, internet. Can't comment about a gym BUT it's a nice walk or jog over to, into and around near by Regent's Park. Tube stop is close. Easy jaunt into the city center. Use the points.
