My husband and 2 friends are arriving in London on Eurostar from France and need to be at Heathrow the next morning. Looking for a hotel convenient to the Picadilly line and not too far away from the airport. Anyone have any suggestions?
The Yotel in Terminal 4 is economical since you pay by the hour. However, it won't work if the three of them are planning on sharing a room as the maximum occupancy is 2 people.
A relatively low priced hotel located near the London Heathrow airport is IBIS Heathrow Hotel. When I inquired about a room there, the price for a room was low if the traveler pays in advance, using a credit card at that hotel's internet website. The lowest price per night was for people staying there three consecutive nights, including a Saturday night. The Hoppa shuttle Bus goes from the Heathrow airport to the IBIS Heathrow Hotel. Airline travelers are advised to be at Heathrow airport at a time that is three hours before their scheduled flight departure time at that airport.
We just stayed at the Premier Inn-Bath Road, just a few miles from Heathrow. We booked months in advance and got a family room (for three people, one double, one single bed) for only 39GBP. It was the second Premier Inn we stayed in; the other was next to the Westminster Bridge inside the County Hall Bldg in London. Both hotels were wonderful! Nothing fancy, but extremely comfortable, clean & everything was in nice condition. The service was excellent as well. For us, the 8.50GBP buffet breakfast was a steal - one adult could get two children under 15 in for a free breakfast. I really have to rave about this hotel chain. I was impressed, and I am not easily impressed.

We stayed at the Ibis this weekend. Small but serviceable room. Great breakfast for 7.50 pounds. Take the red 105 or 111 bus from Heathrow (walk out the National Express waiting room towards the toilet and go right to the bus stand) get on the bus and look to your left. The hotel is about a 15 min ride and it is free. You can tell the driver where you wish to get off and hopefully, he/she will remember to let you off. The Hoppa bus goes to Ibis also, but charges 4.50 each person. The hotel has no free wifi which I feel it should, since it is an Ibis and not an Etap. There is a MacDonalds about a 3 block walk from the Ibis which has free wifi. Walk out of the Ibis and turn right. The Ibis does have a computer that costs 1 pound for 20 minutes and you can print your boarding ticket for free.
