We stayed in Clifden (Quay House) which we liked because there were several restaurant choices within walking distance. From there, it was easy to drive to Connemara for the day. Don't miss Lake Nafooey and the famine road out by the Delphi Lodge (which is probably a bit northwest of Connemara.) These were two of the most beautiful spots we have ever seen in Ireland.

We loved Atlantic View in Clifden. What town are your two B&Ss in?

I stayed at the Quay House as well and would recommend it. The owners are exceptionally friendly. It's a nice quiet location, right on the water and down the hill from the center of town. It's a short and easy walk if you don't mind hills. Being from Pittsburgh, I am used to them.

Connemara, not Connermera.

Nope, haven't stayed there. Stayed in Galway (tons of B&Bs) and did a day trip into the Connemara. Beautiful country (my Connemara-escapee grandmother is turning over in her grave as I type those words - it probably wasn't so beautiful to those who had to grow potatos in rocks in order to survive in the 1800s).

Have a great trip!
