Connemara Suggestions on B&B/Lodging and Bike Riding/Activities - 3 days

Hello. I will be traveling solo in Ireland for 2 weeks in May via train with no car. I have all reservations except this area. I would like to stay near the National Park yet that seems very secluded. If I stay in Clifden, it seems
I will be far away from the nature of the park. Is there anywhere I can stay in this area that I can access fun activities and nature via bike. If you have suggestions where to stay, please let me know. I will be there to hike, bike around and just get away from it all and hopefully complete one of my books. Dingle and Dublin will be the more energetic part of my trip. Oh, when it rains there, can I plan on being stuck inside for days due to pouring rain, or does it stop quickly like in Florida??

Does the train go to Clifden? I would consider a car essential in touring the Connemara.

Rain can be light or heavy, brief or unending. Most of what I have encountered is either a sunny day or misty drizzle (a "soft day" as they say in Ireland).

Sorry, I'm no help on places to stay in the Clifden area.

Clifden and Letterfrack are probably the closest towns to the National Park. And yes, it is secluded, but it's not really very far from Clifden. We stayed in Clifden, and the park was only a short drive away, but there are B&Bs everywhere along the way, even in rural areas. Your problem is still going to be transportation in that area, though.

As for the rain, the most common rainy weather I've experienced is the all-day drizzle ("soft weather"), which ranges from a mist to a steady light rain. I haven't experienced any Florida-type, brief, hard rains followed by sun.
