Any tips for taking the car ferry from Cobh to Kimsale?

Just curious, why car ferry? I think you can drive there easily, we did it but were on a leisurely trip. Not sure if car ferry will save you time.

The driving distance between Cobh and Kinsale is 28 miles. Viamichelin estimates the drive time as just over an hour. The ferry is a five minute crossing, but you might have to wait for an undetermined time before the next one. And it's not a direct connection between Cobh and Kinsale. After you get off the ferry you still have a 30 min. drive to Kinsale. I don't see the benefit of paying for the ferry to not get there really any sooner.
