What is the easiest way to get from Cobh to Kinsale? I'm boggled looking at the map. Thanks
Take the N25 out of Cobh to the South Ring Road around Cork to the second exit of the Kinsale Road roundabout (to the N28). At the next roundabout, take the exit for N71. At the next roundabout, take the exit for R607 and you're there. Basically, you'll be going south of Cork, then turning off of the N71 to R607. N25-N28-N71-R607
Thanks, Nancy. Hope it's as easy as you make it sound.
It's not that bad. You miss the Cork traffic by going around on the ring road. The roads are modern and well-marked.
Hello neighbor!
We were in Ireland in April and traveled from Cobh to Kinsale. This is the exact route we used. We thought the ferry from Cobh to somewhere (not really sure where it ended up) might be quicker, but a lady at the Queenstown museum told us this was the fastest.
The Cross River Ferry on Carrigaloe road, cobh across to Glenbrook road. The ferry takes about 5 min. They can take 28 cars at a time.

Glenbrook is the the R610, which runs right into R611; which runs right into R600 into Kinsale.
I took this ferry a few yrs ago when my da traveled home w/me and he enjoyed the ferry ride although short. We didn't have to wait too long and we cut out alot of travelling around and thru Cork City.
I took the ferry when I was there in May. It's very quick. I can't imagine the drive around is faster.
We had some trouble finding it, but you now have better directions than we did. Coming from Cobh, it's right off the road on the left hand side, so if you keep an eye out for it you can't miss it.
Enjoy your trip!
