Tim of Minot, Al of Nottingham, Kent of Oregon, Alan of Brighton..Anyone of Anywhere, What can you tell me about finding information on coaches from Heathrow. Evidently there is one that will take you to Colchester..
nationalexpress.com is a good place to find coach schedules across the UK. But it only shows 3/day from Heathrow-Colchester, between 3 and 4 hours, with about an hour wait in London. A better bet might be the train...again, you have to go into London, and transfer from Paddington station to the Liverpool Street station to catch your train for Colchester....but it can be done in about two hours. Check nationalexpresseastcoast.com, where you can purchase advance tickets that can be relatively inexpensive....just check for conditions re: refunds or schedule changes.
I agree with Norm that you'll be better off taking a train from the Liverpool Street station to Colchester. You can take the Tube (Piccadilly Line) from Heathrow to Holborn and the Central Line from Holborn to Liverpool Street in just over an hour. There is frequent train service from Liverpool Street to Colchester and the trip takes just under an hour.
Laurel: You mentioned me in your request but I see that my distinguished colleagues from Minot and Ottawa have already answered your question. Happy travels!
