Cirencester, Gloucestershire

Would appreciate information about a one day stay in Cirencester, on a Saturday, as need to catch the National Express Coach to Heathrow the next day....A nice but well-priced B&B at a single room rate, plus some suggestions on what to see, would be greatly appreciated - Appreciation from Suzanne

Hello,

The Brewery Arts Centre has just reopened after a major redevelopment. The Corinium Museum is a gem, but it's hidden a little (ask any local, they will be able to direct you).

Cirencester has LOADS of bed and breakfast accommodation, as well as a couple of good hotels.

www.cirencester.co.uk has a good accommodation page which covers most of the accommodation in the town.

Hope this helps?

Suzanne, we've stayed at The Leauses in Cirencester a few different times and love it there. Check out their website: http://www.theleauses.co.uk/ Mason and Elizabeth are very friendly and accommodating hosts and have two wonderful Greyhounds. :-) Very nice accommodations, close to everything. Those ring roads that circle every city and street names that change every few blocks are something to get used to though.

Another vote for the Corinium Museum. Great exhibits, interesting layout, lots of ancient Roman items, and an informative staff.

Judy mentioned The Leauses.

This is a very good quality B&B on Victoria Road in Cirencester. There is also a self catering property.

Victoria Road is also home to other B&Bs including The Ivy House, The Old Bungalow, The Talbot Inn and Abbeymead Guest House.

At the town centre end of Victoria Road you will also find The Old Brewhouse (actually on London Road but adjacent to Victoria Road).

Cirencester's location makes it an ideal base for touring the Cotswolds.

When is your planned visit to Cirencester Suzanne?
