Churchill's grave in Bladon

We will have three full days in the Cotswolds next week. We have been in that part of England multiple times and somehow missed visiting the Churchill grave (huge Churchill fan) when we went to Blenheim Palace. It will be somewhat out of the way to get to Bladon since the sights we plan to see are in opposite direction. Is it worth it to see the little cemetery with the grave? Has anyone visited it?

Bladon is a mile from Blenheim Palace, if you are big fan of Churchill's then it's worth a visit. He's buried at St. Martins Church, his parents are also buried there.

If you are a big Churchill fan it will be worth it- its really not very far, and also a nice little village. Do it while you are there

We stayed in a B & B in Blandon...somewhat by accident as we planned to visit Blenheim. You are really quite near the estate but on the other side from Woodstock. It just seems a ways since you have to drive around. Our hosts asked if we were going to visit Winston's grave...so we did. It was quite humbling to stand by the modest grave of one of the greatest men of the 20th Century and his lovely Clementine. I'm still moved just remembering it.

Definitely go....it's literally a five-minute drive from the parking lot at Blenheim Place. Bladon is a wonderful little village and, as others have said, Churchill's grave is very moving.

We have been there twice, actually about 15 years between visits. My husband is very interested in Winston Churchill. On our first visit we went to Blenheim Palace and the grave site. Last year we stopped at the gravesite again on our drive to Oxford from the Cotwold area. It is a very peaceful setting and worth the time if you have any interest in Winston Churchill. We have also done his Cabinet War Rooms in London and his family home outside of London on other visits.

I've visited. I was excited to go in and see Churchill in big letters on the grave - then noticed it was the grave of one of his relatives. It took a couple of minutes to figure out which of the Churchill graves was the Winston I was looking for.................I like seeing the graves of people I admire (Churhill, Adam Smith, Michaelangelo, etc.) but also realize that may not be for everyone.
