Christmas in York, Cotswolds or Bath?

we're spending Christmas in England with our 2 young adult children. Where should we spend Christmas? Any recommendations for a B&B, cottage rental etc. would be very helpful.

Check out the National Trust UK site for Christmas Events and cottage rentals, this might lead you to your choice. I would pick Bath of your 3 choices for myself because you have many more nearby things to do; including the Cotswolds. York is much further North and can have worse weather. But...it could be fun if you like snow. York Minster might have some great Events. There are tons of B & Bs to choose from. Tourism is the UKs major cottage industry.

Deb...just "googled" both York and Bath...brought up the map and then put "national trust properties" in the "nearby" blank box and it brought up all the listings of NT places nearby plus places to stay...pretty slick. Also if you "google" "Christmas at National Trust Properties" you can get a list of interesting things to do. Looks like York has an Xmas Market that's supposed to be pretty good. However if you want to do a lot of touring outside of York some places are closed before Christmas.

Thanks Kathleen - I'll give it a try. York at Christmas sounds quite nice. A little snow shouldn't stop us - we're from Chicago!

I am not a fan of Bath. Worth seeing, but low on my list. I love York, so much to see. Christmas and a visit to the cathedral would be special. I am tempted to say do the Cotswolds, but everything in England seems to close on Christmas day, you need to be in a "populated" area. When i was there there people seemed to get out and about on Boxing Day- there is bound to be something special to see and do
