Hi,
I want to book an apartment or less expensive hotel with breakfast included for myself and my two teenagers. This apartment seems like it's nice enough but some of the reviews state that the area is a little "rough". I'm a single mom with a son and daughter, so I want to choose a safe location. It's just south of Christ Church Cathedral. Anyone have thoughts or experience with this area of Dublin?

Marcia--We've stayed at Jury's Inn Christchurch twice, which (seems like) would be quite close to CC Hall apts. The area is fine, and really very easy to walk nearly anywhere. I'd be at a loss to figure out what a little "rough" might be.

Thank you both. I know all cities have their dicey areas, but I feel much better knowing Christchurch is fine.
Well aware of roaming "rocket scientists" and will take taxi if necessary!

The main time to worry about an area being "rough" is if you are out late at night when the bars are closing and the "rocket scientists" are stumbling onto the streets.
You might take a look at the Harding Hotel. It is in this same area,directly across street from Christ Church,and within walking distance of most sights.
