Choirs in Wales

We will be in North Wales from August 6-14. Rick mentions in his books about going to listen to choirs in the evening. Can anyone recommend how one might find out which choirs permit outsiders or perhaps a website with that info. Thanks.

I wish I knew something more specific about this, Kathleen! The Welsh Miner choirs are an incredible and fun bit of tradition and history. Searching Welsh Miners choirs might help!

Hi Kathleen, You can go to www.homecomingwales.com for schedules. Llangollen has a mens choir Fridays at 7:30 at Hand Hotel with a pub singsong to follow. Denbigh mens choir see www.denbigh-choir.co.uk. In Ruthin the mixed choir performs ath the Tabernacle Church Chapel on Thursdays except, Rick says, in August. Sorry. For Caernarfon visit www.cormeibioncaernarfon.org. Most towns have a choir (mixed or mens) some more that one. You can also ask at the TI or your B&B. I plan to do this myself in September. Let me know what you find out? I looks like you're welcome to listen anytime.

Have a look at the wales index on http://tinyurl.com/kny93t
When you talk about choirs in Wales they are traditional Male voice choirs, and i tend to think of them being in South Wales rather than North Wales. but this site has some in North Wales.
The Huddersfield Choral society is a mixed choir formed in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, which is in England.

I was very lucky on my trip.
A group of guys in a choir happened to be in the local bar and they were singing for hours.
We bought them each a drink and enjoyed an evening of wonderful music.
