Cherry Court Hotel-London Communication Problems?

Hello all!

I sent an e-mail to Cherry Court Hotel in London three days ago inquiring about room availability and have heard nothing back. I sent an e-mail last night to ask if they even received my first request and no response. Has anyone had a similar experience? I was thinking I was impatient but then I thought that if it's a hotel, they should be pretty prompt in replying. Thanks!

Just last night I was reading the new guide book for Great Britain. Rick says no answer, then assume, no room. I tried the Cherry Hotel over a month ago for July 19-22 and it was not available for our family of four. Keep sending your email while you look for something else.

I made my reservation for a fortnight stay this spring over the telephone, at that time they gave me a confrmation number and told me to use it in all e-mail correspondence. I suspect they get a vast amount of spam, so your inquiry may have been filtered out by their spam blocker. I would not think of the Cherry Court as a 'Hotel', but more of a large family run B&B. The Patels are lovely people and I would find it extraordinary that they would not reply, even just to let you know there was no vacancy. Give them a call if you don't get a response soon.

I booked a room there for September last month via email and had no problems hearing back from them within a day or two. Maybe, as someone said they have no vacancies for your time. I would check with them again and ask them if they could respond back either way.

We were planning to stay there and I emailed for availability. I got a reply from them within a day that those dates were available. Then I emailed back with slightly different dates once I had nailed down my itinerary. They didn't reply at all to that email, so I called and reached the owners son, who told me that he would have his dad email me back. He emailed back that the room I wanted was not available.

I did a lot of looking around and decided upon the Paddington area over the area around Victoria Station. Paddington is a little more leafy and suburban and still just as central to the sights. I came upon a small family run hotel near Paddington Station that has the same rates as the Cherry Court. We're staying in a standard twin room for 48 pounds a night, with a bathroom down the hall! The hotel is called "Hyde Park Rooms" is run by a London family for the past 30 years. The rate includes a cooked English breakfast and the hotel has good reviews in Tripadvisor.

We could easily spend $200 a night in London, but decided on the budget hotel option in order to have more money to spend on food and sights!

Dave: Disagree strongly that Paddington is more leafy and suburban than Victoria!!! You will see!!

Well, you can disagree, but the streets in the Victoria/Pimlico area next to the hotels we considered were lined with buildings and no trees. Mainly we wanted to stay under $100 a night in London with a location that is safe and convenient. Sussex Gardens is much more leafy than Belgrave Rd. Anyone with Google Maps can see that.

I don't know who did it or if the Patel's at Cherry Court read this board but I received a very thorough response yesterday afternoon. Thanks for everyone's comments.
