It's almost impossible to buy tickets directly from the team unless you are a member of the club. Check this site: http://tinyurl.com/6c83ul If you want to try your luck with scalpers, they congregate near the Underground Station. They will be either buying or selling. If they are buying, don't waste your time- go to a pub to watch the match-you'll never be able to out-bid the Japanese tourists.

thats what i was afraid of. I have been looking on the chelsea web site, and called the tottenham sales office. all sold out to members only. i think i'll go to the pub. I will still try to make an AC Milan Game on may 17th. i think the stadium holds 80,000 people probably easire to get. do you have experience with tickets in milan? can you buy tickets at the the stadium the day of the game?

It's much easier to purchase AC Milan tickets-as you say its a big stadium with a lot more seats. Make sure you bring your passport to the stadium; the ticket people check the names printed on the tickets.

My cousin is a big Chelsea fan. He's in the U.S. He bought tickets online a couple of years ago prior to his trip to London. I think it was from a ticket broker.

Does anyone know if Chelsea is still the team with the scary fans?

I've had a couple experiences in London that gave me pause about ever going to a Chelsea match.

The first one was taking a bus from Gatwick to downtown London. The driver was listening to a match on the radio. I wasn't really paying attention. As we were driving there were a few light blue jerseys on the sidewalks and the driver was very apprehensive. He had been listening hoping to get through before the match was over.

Another time I was about to board the tube. A Bobby stepped in front of us and said, "You may want to chose a different car." I wasn't sure what he meant but got on the next car. I then noticed that the car had a little less than ten light blue jerseyed people in the car and no one else. I also noticed at each stop a Bobby stood outside the door of the car apparently to warn off other people or respond to a problem in the car.

I just talked to a Brit who lives here now and asked him the above question. He says Chelsea no longer has the rowdiest fans but might be in the top four.

I told him about the Bobbies in the Tube. He said that's normal. When they have two rowdy teams they will have bobby corridors to keep the opposing fans seperated.

Every team has a contingent of fans that likes to cause trouble from time to time. They are well known to the police and they keep close tabs on them during game days. Back in 2004 I was taking a flight from Gatwick to Lisbon before England's quarterfinal match with Portugal. At the gate there was a police check to weed out hooligans prohibited from traveling abroad. In addition to checking IDs they also made some fans remove their shirts so they could examine tattoos:) If you want to see a good movie on the subject matter rent the movie "Football Factory".

Chelsea only has one home game left and I am virtually certain it is already sold out. Chelsea is currently enjoying a very good season that with a little luck could be a fabulous one (they are currently tied with Man U for the league lead but don't have the tiebreaker and are in their first-ever Champions League final). Stamford Bridge is worth the expense but at this point you'll likely have to pay for scalper tickets.

I can still hear this song in my head, GO BLUES:

Blue is the colour, football is the game
We're all together and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
Cos Chelsea, Chelsea is our name.

Here at the Bridge, whether rain or fine
We can shine all the time
Home or away, come and see us play
You're welcome any day

Come to the Shed and we'll welcome you
Wear your blue and see us through
Sing loud and clear until the game is done
Sing Chelsea everyone.

Another Chelsea fan story... last summer my husband and I were on the tube and as we approached the station we could see the platform lined with young guys in chelsea jerseys and other regala. They all rushed into our car (and others), and proceeded to sing and shout at one another until we got off at our stop. They were on the way to a match. It was so fun! We loved observing first hand the passion of soccer fans! Hope you get to go to a match! I sure we could have!
