Hi! Okay, London in November, and hubby and I are going to at least one Chelsea match at Stamford Bridge. Has anyone been to a great pub nearby? Which one? How was it? I want to complete the match experience with a cool pub experience, and know someone on this board will have the skinny. Many thanks!
Having a "cool" pub experience after a soccer match may not be what you believe it will be. Might be more rowdy than you wish. That said, the Cock and Hen and Fox and Pheasant are close enough. Since you are looking for a poncy restaurant on the same trip maybe you'd like to dine at Marco at the stadium. Use beerintheevening or fancyapint websites for pub reviews.
After a football match I would avoid pubs near the grounds. However as you are at Chealsea pitch (which as I recall is actually in Fulham) Why not go to one of the riverside pubs at Hammersmith or Strand on the Green
Kira The White Horse is an easy walk from the ground and close to Parsons Green tube for getting back to wherever you want to go later. http://www.whitehorsesw6.com/ As other people suggest it will be full, as will anywhere else within walking distance, but then perhaps that's the point if you want to get a real match experience. Chelsea are at home in the league twice in November: versus Liverpool (20th November) and Wolves (26th). Since I'm a Liverpool supporter I won't wish you an enjoyable match if you go to the first of these. Alan
