What does your residence cost you in the City by The Bay?
Is that your budget? What is cheap to you? Simply ask these questions since The City and London are two of the most expensive places on the planet. You want a lead? Use the internet and check out the airbnb website.

The London School of Economics rents spare dorm rooms and apartments to tourists. You get ensuite (usually) and either a kitchenett or kitchen access. You also get use of student facilities like the laundry room and 'lounge' - read TV and game room. I think their rates start between 35-60 GBP per night for a single and go up from there. They have multiple central London locations. Try www.airbnb.com Found a great flat in Kensington for a 3 night rental. Great situation for three adults traveling together and was cheaper than any hotel I saw.

Check out Vancouver Studios. They have studio apartments and also hotel rooms with kitchenettes.
