Has anyone made the trip via public transit out to the home of Charles Darwin (Downe House) in the London 'burbs? If so, how does one do it?

"Travel by train is easy: only 15 minutes from London Victoria to Bromley South, followed by bus 146 at 36 minutes past the hour." This is the travel advice from their website. Have not travelled by public transport, we drive there, but I agree that it looks straightforward. http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/home-of-charles-darwin-down-house/ You catch the bus from the bus stop to the right in front of Bromley South station. Here is the bus route and times http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/AHF/JP10__000010e1.pdf Trains from Victoria stopping at Bromley South are pretty frequent.
We made the trip using public transportation (and a waiting taxi for the final leg of the journey) as described on their website a couple of years ago and it was very easy. We absolutely loved the home, gardens, and sand walk. I highly recommend that you go for it!
I'm glad people have transportation information for you. We drove there, and it is really worth the time to visit.
