Cell Phone Reception in Rural Scotland?

Hi all, we are planning a trip soon driving all around Scotland, but are wondering about cell phone reception OUTSIDE of the big cities. We know cell phone reception is fine in Glasgow and Edinburgh, but what about gnerally driving around on smaller highways, say to Oban, or the Isle of Skye, or Loch Lomond? Anyone know?
