anyone pull this off ..spending a week in Ireland then ferry Dublin to Holyhead but Sat or Sunday rental very difficult in wales ..everything is closed to pick up a new car ......

The Auto Europe site shows the outlet at the Holyhead ferry port is open until 14:00 on Saturdays.

When we were in Calais, France, last June, I made a point of asking the Avis person at the ferry building about taking rental cars on the ferry. She told me it is OK to take a rental car on a ferry across the channel to England.So, you may be able to rent a car in Ireland and take it on the ferry to the United Kingdom.

It's possible you'll need to pay a drop fee for dropping the car in another country. Worth checking into.

If there is any way you can work out 2 rentals, I would do it.
