Car rental, bus trips and trains in Wales

I'll be renting a car in Oxford. The only car return in Northern Wales is in Caernarfon. Any suggestions on bus/coach travel from Caernarfon to a location where we can catch a train to Holyhead (we're taking the ferry to Dublin... one-way)?

The nearest stop on the London to Holyhead train route is Bangor which is about 9 miles from Caernarfon. Perhaps you could e-mail the local Tourist Office in either place to ask about local buses or taxi firms.
