We need to rent a car in Glasgow and use it for almost two weeks and then drop it off near London, Basingstoke for instance. Having a lot of problems doing this. There are lots of companies that allow one way rentals but I think maybe getting it in Scotland and leaving it in England mya be the problem. Any one have a suggestion or experience with this?

Out of idle curiosity, I checked an arbitrary two weeks in July on kayak.com. I looked at Prestwick to Prestwick and Prestwick to Heathrow (for no particular reason other than I thought they would have a full stock) and found plenty available either way. Meganes (from National) ran about $415 with a local return and another $80 with a Heathrow drop.

Tricia - be aware that Glasgow is served by two airports, Glasgow (GLA) and Prestwick (PIK). If you're flying into Glasgow, be sure you reserve your rental car at the correct airport. Ryanair, for example, uses Prestwick. The two airports are nowhere near each other.
Almost made this mistake myself, last year.
