We need to leave our rental car at EbbsFleet for four days, as we take the Eurostar to Paris for a short stay. Is there ample space, or do we need to make a parking reservation? Is it safe? Is it large enough that we need a shuttle bus as we do at some airports? Is it affordable? Are there lockers in the train station where we can leave a suitcase? Is there anything else we need to know? Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Nancy. I see that so far you have no responses on this. I don't have too much - but last August we were supposed to take the Eurostar to Ebbsfleet and pick up a rental car. We had rented through Hertz - they had told me a shuttle bus would take us from the Eurostar station to the rental car location. My husband ended up getting sick, so we had to cancel and never actually saw Ebbsfleet. You might want to check with your rental car agency to see if they can give you information. Just a thought.
Thanks, Sharon. We use Hertz frequently, so that will be the next phone call I make. Happy travels!
Hi I'm very clued-up about Ebbsfleet International and use the station regularly to travel to London and UK to Paris. The car park is very secure and there is a police station in car park C and the site has 24 hrs cctv. See http://www.ebbsfleetinternational.co.uk/index.php?station=car-parking You can hire cars at Ebbsfleet too. So hope you have a great trip Andy
Here is a link for you to that station's website:
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/ebd/details.html Notice they do have a car-park (8 pounds per day) and they specifically say "No" to left luggage. (Check the tab that says "General Services Information") The website does not say that you need to make a reservation for the car park. If you leave your rental car parked in their car lot, I would leave my luggage in the trunk, making sure to lock the car. (Believe me, when you are tired, mistakes are easily made.) Do not leave any items visible inside the passenger area of the car.
