Can I pick up a car one place in Ireland and drop off in another

Is it possible to rent a car at Shannon airport and drop it off somewhere in or near Dublin? Planning on flying in from Amsterdam and tour the west/south eventually ending up in Dublin for a few days before flying home. I don't expect we need a car in Dublin. Thanks

Of course you can. I've done it several times. The easiest place to drop the car is at the Dublin airport, then take public transportation into town.
