You might check Rick Steves' book on England. We stayed in a B&B in Cambridge for several days and enjoyed it. There were some that families could stay in and the town is easy walking from one end to the other. There were some mentioned a few blocks from the train station which were handy because we didn't have to drag our luggage very far. I left my book in England when we left so I am sorry I can't give you the name of any. Have a great trip.
