We would like to find a B&B under $100 p/night within about 20 minutes walking distance to/from both the train station and the Caius campus in Cambridge for mid-August. Any suggestions? Things seem to be filling up already. Would we be better to stay further out and use a taxi? I heard they were expensive. Thanks!

Check with the tourist bureau in Cambridge. Via the internet check out Byron's Lodge in Grantchester, there is a bus that services to downtown Cambridge. Check out Granta House (011-44(0)1223-560466, 53 Eltisley Ave.--near Wolfson College. It is a fast 20 minute walk to the train station and to Caius, I think the cab was around $8-$10 to the train a couple of year ago. Byron's Lodge is next door to the Orchard--both in Grantchester, often attributed to Cambridge.
