Caledonian Sleeper--berth or seated sleeper?

We are traveling from Edinburgh to Euston in London in September. The seated reclining sleepers are cheaper enough that we're thinking about skipping the berth experience even though I know that would be cool. Has anyone done the reclining sleeper? Safety issues? Comfortable? Would it be a better experience to do the berth? We are two adults and two teenage daughters; we would split up and each take a daughter if we did the berth.

I think you'd get a better night's sleep in a berth, lying flat and probably with a bit more privacy. Have fun!

get the berth. You are private and more comfortable. It would take quite a bit of potential savings for me to choose to sit up all night. If i was going to travel in a seat, I would choose to do so in daylight so i could at least see the sights as we go by
