Buying Euros in Ireland

Hello all,
Anybody have thoughts on buying euros and where if you are in country? My airport rate is approx $1=.68 euro today. can i get it better at a bank in Ireland with just a passport?

Thanks,
Brian

Not sure what an airport rate is, but the going rate should be about a buck thirty. You'll hit real close to that with an ATM. They're in the airport and on every corner once you get going.

Definitely the ATM. If you are already in Ireland and have dollars that you need to exchange, a bank would be better than a currency exchange or at the airport.

Why would you buy euros in Ireland and get a bad exchange rate when you can use your ATM card and get a much better rate??? ATM's are everywhere as they are here in the USA.

Mark, the OP asked about where to buy euros if you are "in country", which led me to believe he might already be there with US dollars to exchange. In that case, the ATM idea is too late for him, though it is the best option overall, as I said earlier.
