I plan on taking public bus from airport to Reykjavik, which I have been able to figure out. We will spend the night and the following day I'd like to know if there is "public transporation" to Blue Lagoon? Booking through Grayline is even more expensive than Reykjavik Excursions (Flybus) but provides transportation from Reykjavik to Blue Lagoon and then to the airport. It's significantly more $ so I'm wondering other options using publice transportation to Blue Lagoon and then to airport is possible/available. Can't seem to find it in my search. Any help would be appreciated.

Back when I went, the Flybus had a monopoly on that route, so I took it to get to both the Blue Lagoon and the airport. The reason the monopoly made sense was that at least the bus schedule was timed to the flight arrivals and departures. If you're not finding many options, it's probably because there aren't any except for the Flybus (I don't know if Grayline is a competitor or if it's the third party seller...or is it the Flybus operator?)
