Budgeting for food and site seeing in Ireland

I would like to know from veteran Ireland travelers if you found Rick's daily budget of 20 for lunch, 30 for dinner and 40 for sites worked for you (too high/too low /just right??). We have booked B&Bs so breakfast is not a problem. We are most willing to picnic -- our focus is simple nourishment and soaking up the surroundings & sites.. Our trip is in June--not quite 2 weeks--Dublin,Cashel, Kinsale,Dingle,Galway,Trim. I have enjoyed reading the posts and will appreciate your input asl I finalize our budget.

At first glance, and given your desire to keep costs down, I would say for lunch and dinner it looks high in all places but Dublin. We, too, tried to stay somewhat on a budget. We found the "pub grub" served in many establishments to be perfectly satisfactory (especially the seafood chowders, to which I quickly became addicted) and at a good discount from the main restaurant. We also had fish and chips in Dublin that was quite good and not at all pricey. You're probably going to want to have at least a couple of meals in nicer places so be sure to take that into account. Finally, your B&B breakfasts are going to stay with you for a while - my daily porridge held me through the better part of the day.

I would also say that the estimate for sites is high for all but Dublin. So much of Ireland is just taking in the scenery...you'll find many places you'll want to stop and see aren't considered "major" attractions and are either free or very reasonably priced.
