Budget Family of 4 Trip in Ireland in March

Would anyone have some suggestions on Hostels in Tipperary,Kilkenny & Killarney areas. We like to do active things such as bike ride & horseback ride & go to places that are not just catered for the tourist industry. Are some of the hostels set up better than others for families & older people than the usual backpack crowd? What can or should we expect staying in hostels compared to B&B?

Darlene:
In Cashel in County Tipperary you may want to check out www.cashelhostel.com. The going rate for a B&B is average 35 euros. This particular hostel the dorms are 16 euros or 21 euros double room per person. Looks like the difference is breakfast. Also, check out www.hostelworld.com you can get particluar towns and also reviews. good luck

We stayed at Kenmare Lodge Hostel last October which is fairly close to Killarney. We met some very nice people (both families and retired couples) in the large shared kitchen and dining area. Our room was really tiny but I think they had a variety of room sizes available.
